LIFELIKE is one of the most talented producer in France’s celebrated dance-music scene. His CV boasts a wealth of hit productions, collaborations and remixes that have cemented his place in dance-music history.

LIFELIKE’s first artistic production, enclosed the last years of French Disco madness, ‘The Soul Of My Love’, was released in ’2001 on Demon’s iconic 20000ST label (responsible for ‘You Are My High’ worldwide hit).

Followed the next year by the underground hit ‘Black Chess’ that lead him to be playlisted months long by Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter & DJ Falcon as the first track that introduced their ‘Together 2002′ World Tour music.

It wasnt long until French Touch Icon’s Alan Braxe noticed him (Alan was behind the huge summer hit of 98′ Stardust ’Music Sounds Better With You’) and decided to sign his single ‘Discopolis’ (co-produced with the german producer Kris Menace) on his label Vulture, the biggest french underground label after Roulé.

‘Discopolis’ was the biggest undeground sellings of 2005 and instant classic, entering the Official UK Top 40 that summer with only vinyl sellings.

4 Ep, 3 el año pasado, y este cuarto con 2 temas You y el Before We Talked, y 3 remixes del You hechos por Minotaur, Dam Mantle y Seams. Electronica-experimental-IDM, con algunos puntos de dubstep y todo, están muy bien todos sus ep, esos ritmos bailables y tranquilos, para dejarse llevar un rato por la música. Muy Recomendable.

Gold Panda, the UK native named Derwin (who just refers to himself as Derwin Panda), has recently released his You EP and is in the middle of summer tours with both HEALTH and Caribou. Not a bad summer gig if you ask me. In fact, there isn’t really a whole lot of information about him anywhere, but we know that his work is released via Ghostly International, and that’s usually a sign of high quality experimental music. Aprovechando que últimamente han sacado album 2 artistas del colectivo frances Valerie, los rusos Tesla Boy y los franceses Minitel Rose, aqui el grupo del creador de este gran colectivo Valerie, David Grellier, y su grupo College, el más puro estilo del colectivo, ese synthpop-New Wave-electrónica que ya hace más 2 años que practican y que ahora esta tan de moda. Muy Recomendables.

The word college automatically draws up imagery in the mind. If you’re young, it’s anticipation. If you’re old, it’s nostalgia. David Grellier knows this well, naming his lovely synth-driven project after the place, hoping to soak up some of the natural feelings that it evokes. His tone poems help the cause along. “A Real Hero,” on his first EP for Flexx, features the vocals of Electric Youth, but they work best as simply another instrument, offering harmonic accompaniment to the somber, descending melody. Grellier never builds things to any sort of climax, instead opting to take what amounts to an aural black-and-white snapshot of a bespectacled Spanish class nerd staring longingly at a girl in a tight sweater.

Clearly intended for home listening, “Closer” and “The Mirage Makers” don’t make it past the two-minute mark, quickly setting out a scene and then extinguishing the vibe before you realize that it’s a single idea and nothing more. You can hear what happens when Grellier extends things on both the aforementioned “A Real Hero” and “Critical Mass,” but he’s smart enough to make sure that each of these tunes is a distinct yellowed memory. While the method is similar, there’s no mistaking the one track that makes you think of a boy in a cardigan. The one about Susan waiting. The tune that sounds like a crooked smile. El sello Portugues, lanza el segundo volumen de su serie Hard Ass Sessions, la primera fue para DJ Znobia (remixed por Buraka Som Sistema, Baobinga y I.D. and Octa Push), y en este volumen nos presenta a 4 artistas de procedencias bien diferentes pero con ciertas similitudes, o como ellos dicen ‘Global Dance Music’ o ‘Tropical Beats’…son Nic Sarno (Italia), Bok Bok (UK), Douster (Argentina7Francia) y Zombies for Money (Portuga). 4 Muy buenos tracks de esa mezcla de electro-etnic-world.

Some connoisseurs and opinion makers decided to name it “Global Dance Music”. There’s also the term “Tropical Beats” due to the Caribbean influence in genres such as the UK Funk but for many, the rawness of Kuduro and the way Buraka shows it in their music, made us once again go back to the African continent in search of inspiration.

The HARD ASS SESSIONS project clarifies that reality, but instead of losing time naming that sound we decided to invite several musicians and producers to create original songs, showing us their interpretation of that so called rhythm that is Kuduro, adding or subtracting elements in order to make it work for their own live sets and their dance floor. Electonica ó Rock? los vieneses se han decido por la electronica interpretada con instrumentos de rock (guitarra, bajo y bateria), muy interesante formación. El disco esta grabado en una sesión en directo, lo cual nos da ya una idea de como funcionan, las interpretaciones en directo con sus instrumentes y alguna base grabada, después Patrick Pulsinger se encargó de la mezcla y producción. practicamente no existen melodias, sino convinaciones de loops, bajo, bateria…. creando una atmósfera muy particular. Interesante propuesta, electronica interpretada con instrumentos de rock. RECOMENDABLE

Originating from Vienna’s experimental rock scene, guitarist Bernhard Hammer, bassist Jakob Schneidewind and drummer Bernhard Breuer are the three members that make up the group, but an undeniably huge influence on the record is that of house and techno stalwart Patrick Pulsinger. Much has been touted about the lack of overdubs, laptops and loops in Elektro Guzzi’s recordings, but Pulsinger’s attention to detail in the mixing and post-production is just as important. – Resident Advisor

Since 2004 the band ‘elektro guzzi’ have been producing a new kind of analogue dance music that challenges common preconceptions of how techno can be performed live. Their unique sound that combines elements of minimal and dub is created through guitar, bass and drums, that although visually reminiscent of a rock band is more similar to a techno dj’s set. But, there is no hiding behind the booth for this band; no computers containing prepared material, no loops or overdubs.
