El duo que hasta ahora publicaba como Milke, con algunos singles entre 2005-2009, ahora han iniciado un nuevo proyecto llamado Monarchy, haciendo ‘Glacial pop with a throbbing undercurrent of humanity’ o un synthpop-new wave actualizado, estan muy bien, y en el último Ep, destaca el rework que los Holy Ghost han hecho para el gran tema ‘Love Get Out Of My Way’, tambien remix de Tim Goldsworthy y Treasure Fingers, tienen varios remixes repartidos por webs, myspace, soundcloud…. entre los que hay que destacar el remix de We Have Band, Kris Menace, Hot City, Disco Bloodbath…. y el mes que viene anuncuan la salida de su primer album, esperemos que siga la linea de los singles/ep presentados hasta ahora. The single comes backed with a stunning remix package. Sinden slips in a steely garage bottom line for great peak time effects. Holy Ghost follow with an incredible new soulful vocal that takes this to starry disco heights. Tim Goldsworthy continues his run of winning remixes with a highly eclectic cut and to end Treasure Fingers dances the night away with some sexy synth action. A perfect pop track, ‘Love Get Out Of My Way’ is bold and forward-looking. It is sonically ambitious, with driving basslines clean beats and soaring synths plus topped with an incredible vocal With it’s rich textures it marks Monarchy out as two of the foremost pop musicians around, culturally aware, musically adventurous. Their bold aesthetic and uncompromising stand against the cult of celebrity has seen them open up new ways of doing things and in doing so they have created their own pop world. With massive support from Radio 1 and already lauded in NME, Wonderland and the Guardian, as well as remixes for Lady Gaga and Kelis, 2010 looks like it will be Monarchy’s year.
