Carte Blanche is the big buzzword at the mo’. Simply because when you have two great production minds in the form of DJ Mehdi and Riton bang heads and put together an EP as such then you get nothing but explosive bangers. It was not too long ago that we got a friendly email from DJ Mehdi with track ‘In The Mix’ .. blown away doesn’t quite express how we felt towards it … this was followed shortly by a mail from Riton with the full EP and ever since it’s been on the IPOD at full blast but that’s until now .. the secret is no longer as we have a five track extravaganza for you. We needn’t say any more though as label Ed Banger has popped us over this small blurb for you to sink your teeth into ..
“You gonna love the house!” This is what DJ Mehdi told Riton when he invited him for a tour of the Chicago ghetto music he’s been stashing for 3 years, waiting for the good moment to reveal. And this is exactly what happened: British grand master DJ and producer Riton moved in, and wanted to never leave. He loved the House, they loved the House. They got married and lived very happily during the years 2009 and 10. Their brainchild was born: everybody welcomed Carte Blanche. And they weren’t the only ones. Ed Banger honcho Busy P snatched the mp3′s that were bouncing back and forth accross the Chunnel for a soon release on the label. The result? Five tracks of neck-breaking breaks, a shout-out to the masters, with no nostalgia whatsoever. Mixed by big bass master Alex Gopher, the record includes club monster ‘Gare Du Nord’ as well as the catchy ‘Do! Do! Do!’, featuring Kid Sister, the heiress to the Chicago throne.”
