It’s unlikely and exciting that Adem and Johnny Lynch are the artists behind the Scottish electro
duo Silver Columns, who dropped a few veiled singles last year before revealing their identities.
Adem’s Homesongs was a critical success that won him Nick Drake comparisons, and Johnny Lynch writes mellow electro-folk under the name Pictish Trail. You wouldn’t expect these artists to write bangers, but then it’s sometimes exhilarating to see such reinvention — Hercules and Love Affair is testament enough to that. And anyway, this kind of music has never stayed still. Yes, and Dance is Silver Columns’ debut album.
